Released as a extremely limited edition, promo only, pre-album release. This hand marked, 50 cd
release would be there last under this name. The album would actually be released under the title
"Personal Trainer". It's rare version's of these songs are produced extremely loud. The album was
intended to show an organization of sounds that were so intense that it would be like a workout.
BATTERIES: Michael nervous had obsessed over his instrumental circuit bending performance
"robots in space" for so long that one day he cracked the mystery by simply shouting "Batteries,
Batteries, we need Batteries". Tony Vega Internacionale just stared at him. MN played the song and
the lyrics fit right over it. He did not stop there he shouted out almost all the lyrics in one take. T.V.
jumped in, excitedly, with two bridge parts. Michael modified the parts over the next few days and
then came the recording sessions. Ok here is where you must get a visual. All of these vocals were
done thru a condenser mic on a portable four track. The vocals were screamed out by Miss Anna
Log, T.V. and Michael Nervous in just a few days but the history of this song is over 500
(estimated) versions and endless hours spent tweaking an manipulating (obsessing over) the sound.
The live performances have included 5 foot dancing bananas, zoot suits, Hawaiian shirts (TV) and a
sample from "the Matrix" stating that we are all just batteries. The band has played the song, played
over the song, sang over the song and of course lip synced the song on the can tv kids show Chic a
go go. Check the schematic for more on this circuit bending anthem about portable devices called
batteries. STRINGS ON THE DAY OFF: this song had only one purpose...a crazy dance. Michael
Nervous loves to dance. He made this dance that he and TV perfected. Miss Anna Log would laugh
to no end at these antics (she was the only smart one not to do the dance live...yes she would
rehearse the crazy dance). The crew needed a third monkey to perform this dance live (intended for
one show only at MN's birthday bash at the Fireside) that monkey was Angel the human drum
machine. The dance consisted of hands waving, knees bouncing, faces smiling, laughing and
choreographed side to side movements all in time with crazy music on this track. It was kept in the
live set, however the dance was cut and propaganda was passed (forced) into the hands of the
audience....always a hit. Check the schematic for more on this post new kids, pre okgo dance step.
You took the most unusual way: Miss Anna Log and TV had the same reaction when michael
sprung this song on them. First Tv...Michael and tony just saw some movie at webster theatre and
michael looks at him and says "so there's this new song I worked on". tv looks at him like here we
go again. michael expected maybe to get laughed at but did not seem to care. the excitement was
overwhelming. He said "I just have to show you". Now tv looked curious. Walking down the street
michael in true nervous crooner style begins to persuade the 300 imaginary tony vega's and the 1
real tv with this vocal "You took the most unusual way (asscending with each syllabal) to start (now
the melody kicks in) off the day, signing your favorite song, you could do no wrong (descending
slightly) and now I'll sing it again" and michael did. Tv's response was that he loved it and it was
perfect, don't touch it. Miss anna log did get a little chuckle out of it. Her version was a slightly over
confident michael thinking that he could suddenly sing in any range while belting out the
unrehearsed vocal in a walk from the car into her parent's house (he was preparing for her parent's
maybe). Check the schematic for more on this crooner/ opera/ choir track not including the weird
butt dance. CHECK THE SCHEMATIC:
